NIELIT Recruitment 2020 : National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) invites online application from eligible candidates for filling up 495 Scientist and Scientific/ Technical Assistant vacancies in National Informatics Centre (NIC). Candidates with the qualification of B.E/ B.Tech/ M.E/ M.Tech/ M.Sc/ MS/ MCA in relevant field are eligible to apply for this job. The selection process is based on the written test and interview.

National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology is an autonomous scientific society under the control of MoE&IT, the government of India.NIELIT office is located in the various place in India, it contains 36 offices in India, above 700 institutes and above 9000 facilitation centres. This institute is engaged in both Formal and Non-formal education in the area of IECT and they also conduct the training programmes in the state of the art area.

Candidates should complete Bachelor Degree in Engineering OR Bachelor in Technology OR Department of Electronics and Accreditation of Computer Courses B-level OR Associate Member of Institute of Engineers OR Graduate Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers OR Master Degree in Science (M.Sc) OR Master Degree in Computer Application OR Master Degree in Engineering /Technology (M.E /M.Tech) OR Master Degree in Philosophy (M .Phil) in the following fields

Pay Scale

  • Scientist-‘B’ Group ‘A’ (S&T): Level-10: (Rs.56,100 – 1,77,500/-)
  • Scientific/ Technical Assistant – ‘A’ Group ‘B’ (S&T): Level-6: (Rs.35,400 – 1,12,400/-)

Selection Process

  • Scientist ‘B’ Post – Selection will be done through a written examination and interview
  • Scientific/ Technical Asst-‘A’ Post – Selection will be done through written examination

Scheme of written examination

  • The written exam will be conducted in English medium only
  • There will be a total of 120 objective type Questions
  • Duration of written examination will be of 3 hours
  • Every question will carry 1 mark
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.

The question paper for the written examination will consist of ;

  • There shall be a total of 120 objective type Questions consisting of 78 questions from Technical Area (Computer Science)
  • 42 question on Generic area. The Generic Area will comprise of Logical Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning Capabilities, Quantitative and Qualitative abilities and General Aptitude.
  • 65% questions from Technical Area
  • 35% from Generic Area.


Minimum percentage to qualify the written examination:

  • 50% for General/EWS
  • 40% for OBC, 30% for the SC/ST/PWD categories

  • SC/ ST/ PWD/ Women candidates – Nil
